What I am THANKFUL for...

Over the Christmas holiday Jer and I spent some time with his family in Bear Lake. On Christmas Eve we all shared what we were thankful for. I've decided this is something I should start doing more than just once a year. It's really powerful to share with those you love how much they mean to you and how thankful you really are for their love and friendship.

I have already told my husband but: you are the best thing that has and could ever happen to me... I LOVE YOU, too much! To my Family: thank you for always being so good to me, I can't imagine not having ALL of you in my life. There is nothing more important to me than my family. Jessie: You are my bestest bud and I am thankful for you friendship for all of these years! I am so proud to call you my best friend! I am also so thankful for your healthy baby Jentri. (you two sure scared me there for awhile) You are one of the best people I know. I luv ya!

Besides being thankful for my wonderful husband, family, and friends I also want to say how thankful I am for my being able to do my practicum at Head Start. I have met so many wonderful children, I know they will stay with me forever. They have taught me so much and I love them all. I can not even begin to say how thankful I am for all of the teachers, managers, and family advocates, they are so good to all of the kids and they give so much of themselves. I want to thank all of them for taking such good care of my friends! I also want to thank anyone who donates to those who are in need. I have seen first hand what a big difference your kindness has made in others lives. I hope you know how wonderful you are and how thankful someone is for you...

I had already started this blog a few months ago, but I didn't really know what I was doing. I still don't know how to do everything on here but I decided to start fresh and start at the beginning!

The Beginning:

Jeremy and I met in an English class at ISU, I came in late (what a surprise) and sat down in front of him. It was already a few weeks into the semester and this was the third class I transferred into due to conflicts with scheduling and classes being cancelled. As they say third times a charm, and I couldn't have picked a better class to add! At that time we both thought our lives were headed in totally different directions, little did we know... the best was yet to come! Yay!

After a couple of weeks, and only a handful of words exchanged during class (mostly hi's) Jer was walking behind me out on the quad and yelled "Hey Amanda!" He got right to the point and asked me out. That was that! I didn't know anything about him (honestly, I didn't even know his name.... sorry lovie) and now I can't imagine being without him. It's crazy to think about how much both of our lives changed after we met.

Our first dates were so much fun and so memorable, I loved it! On our very first official date Jer was bound and determined to take me to Lava and to this cute little pizza parlor. But the weather was dead set against us going out! It was the worst snow storm, ever. The winds were so strong, and the roads were so slick. It took us a long long time to get there, especially since we couldn't see where we were going! When we finally made it the pools were closed down due to the storm. So we went to get some pizza. We had just ordered our drinks and boom, the power goes out! Pitch black. It makes me laugh when I think about it, could things have gotten any worse!?! Then the waitress comes around and lights all of these little candles on the tables and all around the room. It was so great! The power was out the rest of the night, so we had a candle lit dinner and it was the very best! (By the way we did get to eat because the oven didn't need electricity to run and it was still working.)

I love thinking about when we first met. There were so many fun times, it was all wonderful. I am so lucky to have Jeremy in my life! I LOVE HIM!
